About the Role

We are searching for a dynamic Country Lead, a super connector who prides himself or herself on creativity, problem-solving, excitement about learning new things and networking skills. This role demands collaboration with various teams and stakeholders, including implementation partners, program teams, field teams, and government authorities, to ensure effective project execution and adherence to regulatory standards.

Project Overview

As a Country Lead, you will oversee diverse projects across three key sectors: health-tech, climate-tech, and drone-tech. This will involve leveraging your existing in-country networks and connections with decision-makers to drive initiatives forward. In the medical sector, you'll focus on introducing and implementing health tech solutions to improve healthcare accessibility and outcomes. In the climate sector, your role will involve managing projects that address environmental challenges and sustainability goals. For the aviation sector, you'll oversee projects that integrate drone technology or other aviation advancements, aligning with the country's developmental and infrastructural needs.

Requirements

  • Multi tasker and ‘go-getter’ attitude with tech orientation

  • Super connector who loves meeting people and making useful introductions

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English and local languages. Knowledge of other languages is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred)

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in project implementation, preferably in international or cross-border contexts

  • Proven experience in one or more of these sectors- medical, climate, or aviation, with established in-country networks and access to key decision-makers

  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment and experience in government relations

  • Ability to work on a virtual team with minimal supervision

  • Willingness to travel to the field and accompany implementing partners as needed

  • Ability to work independently in diverse, multicultural teams

  • Immediate availability

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Market Strategy Advisory

  • Lead the development of comprehensive business and market entry strategies to drive client growth and performance.

  • Analyze market trends to identify new opportunities and advise clients on strategic market positioning and expansion.

  • Foster relationships and networks to enhance business opportunities, ensuring alignment with client goals and market dynamics.

  • Lead the full lifecycle management of business development deals, from identifying opportunities to negotiating and closing agreements.

 

Government and Regulatory Affairs 

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with government officials and regulatory bodies.

  • Represent clients in meetings, negotiations, and liaisons, advocating their interests.

  • Facilitate regulatory approvals and compliance, interpreting and advising on policy impacts.

 

Project Design and Management

  • Spearhead the development and design of client-specific projects, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and local context.

  • To deliver exceptional outcomes and oversee project management, including resource allocation, timeline adherence, and quality control.
